Julio,

Glad I could help I think you would be very happy with the PMW-500, the picture is fantastic. A bit more to move around and power but worth it for the picture quality.

That´s the info I was hoping to hear, I am an Orthopaedic Surgeon in South America, and I usually shoot surgeries for academic material, And you are right the ex series with CMOS don´t manage motion in the best way besides they are kind of noisy cameras (EX-1, EX-3).

I am planning to take the big step out of my venerable EX-1 since a long time, but after reading your blog about not being happy with the 350, and how you came back to the EX-1 with a Nano, was not sure if it was the right moment.

I think now, the PMW-500 could be my next solution.

Thanks for your time and useful info.

Hi Julio,

Thanks for the note. The PMW-350 w/Nano is a good camera but not in the league of the PMW-500 with it's CCD and built in color spacing and bit rate. If you can afford the upgrade to the PMW-500 you will be much happier in the long run. The PMW-350 did not work well for me with motion. But if you do not shoot motion which is rare you could go for the 350. Let me know if you have specific questions always happy to help.

Paul, congrats on your new camera, since you own the PMW-350 colud you compare the picture quality of the 500 vs the 350 with a nano.

is it worth the extra money

greetings
